Crystal Certification

Laser Optics uses a Soliel-Babinet compensator and high-extinction (10^5:1) calcite polarizers to measure waveplate retardance. Accuracies of +/- 0.001 waves retardance can be achieved.

Rocking curve of thin quartz plate, with a width (FWHM) of 10.7 arc-seconds. A narrow rocking curve  indicates high crystalline perfection and a good polish.
